Job summary

Infineon Australia is seeking an Automation Technician to maintain reliable plant automation in a high-volume manufac­turing setting. You will troubleshoot automated equipment, perform preventive maintenance and assist engineers on improvements.

The role requires a Diploma in Mechatronics/Mechanical/Electrical Eng, 3–5 years' automation experience, and willingness to work 12-hour Day/Night shifts. 24-month commitment with potential renewal is listed.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechatronics/ Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Min 3–5 years of experience with automation equipment.
• Team player who can work independently.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willing to learn and pick up new skills quickly.
• Willing to work 12-hour permanent Day/Night shifts.
• NITEC / Higher NITEC welcome with 5+ years' experience.
• Commitment: 24 months contract (renewal potential).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, recover and resolve plant automation equipment breakdowns.
• Troubleshoot basic computer hardware/software issues independently.
• Perform system and server recovery on automation/manufacturing systems.
• Impart basic operation and troubleshooting to operators.
• Perform automation equipment critical checks and restoration.
• Perform preventive maintenance on automation equipment.
• Support engineers on continuous improvement programs.
• Assist engineers on spare part management.
