Job summary

QFS PTY LTD in Queensland seeks an Automation Technician to install, commission, service and troubleshoot automated gate systems across residential, commercial and industrial sites. You will work with motors, control boards, sensors, safety devices and access-control equipment, diagnosing faults and ensuring safe operation.

The role requires a relevant automation/electrical qualification and 2+ years’ experience, with knowledge of major control systems considered a bonus.

Qualifications

• Relevant higher education in automation or related field with focus on programming/configuring automation controllers.
• 2+ years as electrical/electromechanical or service technician in automation/manufacturing.
• Experience with control systems (Siemens, Rockwell, Beckhoff or FANUC) is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission automated gate systems.
• Configure controllers and automation equipment.
• Install motors, sensors, panels and safety devices.
• Diagnose electrical/electronic/mechanical faults.
• Troubleshoot and repair systems.
• Test and commission installations.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Modify and upgrade systems.
• Use diagnostic/testing equipment.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and technical specs.
• Conduct safety testing and accessibility checks.
• Document maintenance and report issues to management.
