Job summary

DesiredSkill Pty Ltd seeks an experienced Automation Engineer for a 6-month rolling ABN contract. You will convert manual test cases to automation using Playwright while applying solid manual testing to ensure coverage. The role is hybrid, requiring 2–3 days in the office and valid working rights in Australia.

Total testing experience: 8+ years, with at least 3 years in automation. A Bachelor’s degree in CS or Engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of software testing experience with at least 3 years in automation.
• Experience with Playwright for automation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop manual test cases from requirements.
• Convert manual test cases into automation scripts.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts (Framework is in place).
• Create manual test cases from requirements and technical documentation to ensure all scenarios are covered.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to identify and implement automation solutions.
• Troubleshoot and optimize automation scripts for reliability and performance.
• Document automated test cases and results, providing regular updates.

In this role, you’ll be instrumental in converting manual test cases into automated scripts, helping to improve the efficiency and reliability of our testing process. Additionally, you’ll apply your manual testing skills to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Key Responsibilities

Develop manual test cases from requirement.

Convert manual test cases into automation scripts

Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts ( Framework is in place)

Create manual test cases from requirements and technical documentation to ensure all scenarios are covered.

Collaborate with development and QA teams to identify and implement automation solutions that streamline the testing process.

Troubleshoot and optimize automation scripts to ensure reliability and performance.

Document automated test cases and results, providing regular updates to the team.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Experience: 8+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 3 years focused on automation testing

Skills:

• Proficiency with automation tools - Playwright.
• Strong manual testing skills, including the ability to create and document test cases from requirements.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
