Job summary

Mercor in Sydney is seeking computer power users to support a research project with an AI lab. You will run real productivity and automation workflows on your Mac to help benchmark and improve cutting-edge AI models while gaining hands-on experience.

This role is part-time (approx. 10–20 hours/week) with immediate start, structured tasks, and clear reporting. Applicants should own a Mac with Apple Silicon or Intel and be able to explain their reasoning clearly.

Job description

Role Overview:

Mercor is looking for computer power users and automation builders with 2-3 years of relevant experience, or currently enrolled postgrad students, to support a research project with a leading AI lab. You will work through real productivity and automation workflows on your own Mac to help benchmark and improve cutting-edge AI models.

Qualifications:

• Required: You must own a MacBook or Mac with an Apple M-series chip or Intel processor, running macOS 15 or higher. Applicants without a Mac cannot be considered.

• Deep familiarity with macOS and its apps, keyboard-driven workflows, and system settings

• Experience building automations with tools such as Shortcuts, Automator, AppleScript, Keyboard Maestro, Raycast, Alfred, Zapier, Make, or shell scripting

• Currently pursuing or recently completed Masters studies, or have 2-3 years of relevant experience + Bachelors from a prestigious institution

• Ability to clearly explain your reasoning while you work

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
