Job summary

The Union Dairy Company in Penola, South Australia, is seeking an Automation and Technology Engineer to maintain, troubleshoot and improve electrical, automation and process control systems within a modern dairy processing plant.

You will develop automation solutions, support maintenance and production teams, ensure safety and quality compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement through upgrades and new technologies.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical maintenance and industrial automation, preferably in food manufacturing.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of electrical standards, automation systems and process control.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot and improve electrical, automation and process control systems
• Develop and implement electrical and automation solutions for projects and continuous improvement
• Provide technical support to Maintenance and Production teams and assist with breakdowns and fault finding
• Maintain electrical and automation documentation, standards and compliance requirements
• Support maintenance planning, projects, procurement and HV maintenance activities
• Ensure all work meets safety, electrical, food safety and quality requirements
• Assist with automation system upgrades and new technology implementation
• Support training, knowledge sharing and effective communication across Maintenance and Production teams

The Union Dairy Company has an annual processing capacity of 300 million litres of raw milk and began production in 2017. Located in Penola, South Australia, our purpose-built plant provides a state-of-the-art factory and is the newest of its kind in the southern hemisphere.

We are currently seeking suitably experienced applicants for the role of Automation and Technology Engineer, located in Penola, SA.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain, troubleshoot and improve electrical, automation and process control systems
• Develop and implement electrical and automation solutions for projects and continuous improvement
• Provide technical support to Maintenance and Production teams and assist with breakdowns and fault finding
• Maintain electrical and automation documentation, standards and compliance requirements
