Job summary

South32 Group Operations Pty. Ltd. is seeking an Auto Electrician to maintain, repair and rebuild surface and underground mobile mining equipment on a permanent 7:7 day/night roster.

FIFO options from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay Shires, are available. You will diagnose faults, service air-conditioning systems and ensure safe operation of mobile mining equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience with Caterpillar, Sandvik, Normet and/or Volvo underground mining equipment.
• Skilled in fault-finding and diagnostics on auto-electrical systems.
• Experience servicing automotive air-conditioning systems.
• Understanding of mobile mining equipment electrical systems and software.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy mobile equipment and plant, light vehicles, electric vehicles and forklifts.
• Attend to vehicle and equipment breakdowns and repairs.
• Maintain and diagnose vehicle air-conditioning systems and electrical circuits.
• Diagnose and repair faults on advanced auto-electrical circuits.
