About the School

About the Role

As an Autism Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting students with Autism, helping them engage with lessons, develop life skills, and access a meaningful and structured learning experience. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will provide 1:1 or small group support, ensuring pupils feel safe, included, and confident.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personalised 1:1 or small group support to pupils with Autism.
  • Assist with lesson activities and follow individual learning plans.
  • Support students’ social and emotional development within the classroom.
  • Administer personal care as required, maintaining dignity and respect.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour, ensuring clear communication with teachers.
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience supporting children with Autism or SEN in a school or care setting is desirable.
  • Understanding of Autism Spectrum Conditions and evidence-based support strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to individual student needs.
  • DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
