Job summary

Norwest Recruitment Pty Ltd. is seeking a Payroll Specialist to own the Australian payroll for a workforce of about 120 permanent staff plus casual/site-based employees during peak periods. The role uses ADP, with strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and timely payments in a hybrid Hills District setting.

You will drive payroll process improvements, partner with Finance and HR on reporting, and ensure awards, overtime and superannuation are correctly applied.

Qualifications

• Experience owning Australian payroll for a local business.
• Experience with casual/hourly workers and site-based payroll.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, overtime and super.
• Experience with ADP is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the Australian payroll function and act as the local payroll expert.
• Manage and validate payroll information for processing through ADP.
• Handle timesheets for permanent and casual/site-based employees.
• Ensure accurate processing of overtime, allowances, travel and meals.
• Work with sites to ensure timely timesheet submissions.
• Respond to payroll queries and resolve issues efficiently.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes and improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with payroll and superannuation requirements.
• Collaborate with Finance and HR on reporting and compliance.
