Job summary

HII's Mission Technologies division in Canberra, Australia seeks a Deputy / Fleet Sustainment Integration Lead to guide the integration of fleet availability, demand, and sustainment execution, ensuring readiness outcomes across planning, engineering, and delivery.

The role requires deep experience in fleet sustainment, availability planning, and naval interfaces, with hands-on exposure to SSN operations; you will coordinate across Navy commands and sustainment teams to maintain readiness for

Qualifications

• 10 years progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years with Masters; or 14 years with HS diploma or equivalent.
• 12–15+ years in fleet sustainment, availability planning, or operational readiness.
• Hands-on experience with US SSN operations and sustainment cycles (VCS strongly preferred).
• Proven ability integrating availability planning, maintenance execution, and operational demand signals.
• Strong understanding of fleet readiness reporting (SORTS/DRRS concepts) and defect management.
• Experience coordinating with Navy operational commands and sustainment organisations.

Responsibilities

• Integrate availability planning, defect resolution, and fleet demand.
• Drive end-to-end readiness management across planning and execution.
• Coordinate across Fleet Sustainment Division and Navy interfaces.
• Align short-term availability decisions with long-term sustainment plans.
• Support availability forecasting and performance stabilisation.
