Job summary

RSM Australia is looking for an Audit Assistant to join our Ballarat office. If you have some audit experience and are seeking a firm that will support your professional development, provide exposure to a diverse client base, and invest in your CA journey, we’d love to hear from you.

As an Audit Assistant, you’ll work closely with experienced auditors, gaining hands-on experience across engagements. You will apply our audit methodology, draft workpapers, assist with planning and fieldwork, and

Qualifications

• Business or Commerce degree with an Accounting major.
• Completed or commenced CA studies (or an equivalent qualification).
• Approximately 6–12 months of audit experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Applying fundamental audit skills within the RSM audit methodology
• Preparing and completing audit workpapers, documenting testing and findings
• Assisting with audit planning and fieldwork activities
• Developing knowledge of Accounting and Auditing Standards
• Using leading audit technology and electronic audit tools
• Assisting in the preparation of reports and documentation for clients and management
• Supporting senior team members with audit engagements and client requirements
• Maintaining training records, timesheets and other administrative requirements

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

• A Business or Commerce degree with an Accounting major

• Completed or commenced CA studies (or an equivalent qualification)
