Job summary

Hearing Australia in Canberra is seeking an Audiologist to support clients of diverse backgrounds. The role is onsite at Deakin, Belconnen and Tuggeranong and offers flexibility in work arrangements (casual, part-time or full-time).

You will assess adult clients, provide rehabilitative support including hearing aids and devices, and liaise with NDIA and families to optimise outcomes. A patient-centered approach and travel flexibility are valued.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Audiology.
• Full and current membership with Audiology Society of Australia.
• Sound knowledge of clinical Audiology and Australian standards.
• Knowledge of Hearing Services Program.
• Exposure to NDIA scheme.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel.
• Ability to support business changes to clinical practice.

Responsibilities

• Assess the auditory problems of non-complex adult clients in line with Australian Hearing practices.
• Provide rehabilitative support including fitting hearing aids and assistive devices.
• Refer clients to other professionals when needed.
• Participate in visiting sites and home visits.
• Liaise with NDIA reps and families to ensure best outcomes.
• Engage in community marketing/public relations activities as required.
• Maintain excellent customer service and manage client load.

As an Audiologist, you’ll support and empower clients of all backgrounds. Working side by side with people who go the extra mile, you’ll also love the feeling of helping children and adults who need us. Here’s how you’ll do it:

• Assess the auditory problems of non-complex adult clients in accordance with established Australian Hearing practice methods and standards
• Provide appropriate rehabilitative support including fitting hearing aids, assistive listening devices, personal amplification devices, accessories and/or communication strategies as appropriate
• Refer clients to other professionals or seek guidance from more senior audiologists where needed
• Participate in providing services at visiting sites and home visits
• Liaise with National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) representatives, other allied health & support agencies and families/carers to ensure best practice and outcomes for each client
• Undertake marketing/public relations activities in the community as required
• Provide excellent customer service, manage client load and meet revenue targets

• Tertiary qualification in Audiology
• Full and current membership with Audiology Society of Australia

• Exposure to National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) scheme
• Willingness and flexibility to travel to other locations to undertake clinical work
• Ability to support business changes to clinical practice, products and policies
