Job summary

Ritchie Bros. in Australia (Victoria) is seeking a Yard Coordinator to assist with inspection of incoming vehicles at the branch. You will check-in vehicles, perform thorough cleaning, capture digital images, and prep units for weekly or biweekly auctions.

The role requires 2–3 years related experience, basic automotive repair skills, and the ability to operate vehicles safely. You’ll work both indoors and outdoors year-round, interact with customers and towers, and learn forklift operation

Qualifications

• 2-3 year related experience
• Experience in equipment rental or construction industry preferred
• Forklift operating experience is a plus
• Basic automotive repair skills
• Proficiency with handheld PDA
• Must be willing to learn forklift operation
• Capable of interacting effectively with customers & towers
• Capable of light vehicle maintenance
• Able to stoop, bend, stand and walk for reasonable periods
• General mechanical knowledge of vehicle makes/models
• Team player
• Outdoor/indoor work year-round
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate vehicles (may not be required in some facilities)
• Comply with safety and environmental rules

Responsibilities

• Vehicle check-in by recording and filing information for incoming vehicles
• Detail and clean vehicles to improve auction value
• Operate passenger vehicles safely to move around the facility or for drive-through auctions
• Numbering, preparation and setup for weekly/biweekly auctions
• Recover keys, license plates, and other items and file them appropriately
• Assist visitors by providing guidance or directing them to the right person
• Perform basic forklift/loader operation
• Adhere to company policies and safety rules
• Read and understand safety and operating instructions and follow environmental rules
• Be alert to hazards with heavy equipment and vehicles
• Meet daily, weekly and monthly performance metrics
• Possibly learn forklift operation depending on facility
• Work in varying climates and surfaces, indoors and outdoors
• Readers and interpreters of documents and safety rules
