Job summary

Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service is seeking an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner to provide culturally responsive care in a multidisciplinary team. The role involves developing care plans and supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients on their health journey.

You will build community connections, mentor trainees, and deliver health promotion while upholding Queensland Health values and high-quality practice.

Qualifications

• Hold current registration as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner with the ATSIHPBA (AHPRA).
• Possess a Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or equivalent.
• Demonstrate strong local cultural knowledge and cultural safety in health care.
• Experience delivering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care to individuals and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally responsive care within a multidisciplinary team and develop healthcare and case management plans for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
• Build strong relationships with community members and ensure their voices are heard in health service delivery.
• Mentor and develop Trainee and emerging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners.
• Deliver health promotion and education programs and uphold safe, high-quality practice.
