Job summary

Haste Recruitment is seeking a senior leader in town planning to oversee large-scale Development Applications and Planning Proposals within NSW. You will guide strategic directions, mentor staff and partner with directors to drive business development and operational improvements.

The role demands extensive statutory planning experience, strong leadership, and a commercial mindset to grow client engagements and ensure delivery excellence.

Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified in Town Planning, Urban Planning or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in NSW statutory planning and approvals.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale or complex planning projects.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and deliver large-scale Development Applications and Planning Proposals
  • Provide detailed planning advice to clients, identifying project risks and opportunities
  • Prepare and review complex planning reports, studies and submissions
  • Liaise with councils, panels and State and Federal government agencies
  • Lead and mentor junior and contract staff and review technical outputs
  • Contribute to operational procedures, quality assurance and project methodologies
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and support client growth
  • Attend project, client, council and panel meetings and undertake site inspections
  • Manage project budgets and ensure performance targets are achieved

About the Role This is a senior leadership role suited to an experienced planner with demonstrated capability in managing large-scale Development Applications and Planning Proposals, leading teams and contributing at a strategic level.
Working closely with the Planning Directors and executive team, you will have responsibility for major projects, mentoring staff, improving systems and contributing to business development and operational strategy

Key Responsibilities

About You
