We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate or Senior Associate to join growing our Commercial Insurance (Financial Lines) team in Brisbane working for David Kerwin.

About the team and the work

The team and practice are experiencing significant growth with a strong pipeline of complex work, creating strong prospects for career development, progression, and increased responsibility.

They have extensive experience in all major lines of insurance, litigation, regulatory investigations and claims against directors and officers, financial institutions and professionals particularly in the financial and construction sectors.

You will be working on policy coverage and defence of claims across all major insurance lines, particularly financial lines including Directors & Officers (D&O) liability, management liability, professional indemnity, property (first and third party) and life insurance.

Clients include major Australian and London market insurers, brokers and underwriters as well as multinational and national policy holders / insureds - including SMEs. They also act for businesses and high net worth individuals in commercial disputes.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside leading Australian insurance lawyers in a high performing, supportive and collaborative team environment.

About you

• You will have 3+ years' experience gained in a well-regarded insurance or commercial litigation practice.
• We are open to candidates at Associate-level looking for progression or an experienced Senior Associate looking to join a leading practice.
• Experience in general liability and professional indemnity highly regarded.
• Willingness to mentor more junior team members.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
