Leading US Law Firm in Sydney seeks an Associate / Senior Associate – Tax to advise multinational corporations, funds and major corporates on sophisticated cross-border transactions. You will work closely with a recognised tax partner and contribute to high-end deals with broad exposure to international work.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years PQE in corporate tax in a leading firm.
• Strong experience in M&A, restructurings or funding matters.
• Exposure to cross-border tax engagements and disputes is advantageous.
• Excellent drafting and client-relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise on a broad range of matters including M&A, restructurings, cross-border tax structuring.
• Assist private equity and fund investments, financing and capital raising.

A rare opportunity has arisen for a tax lawyer to join the Sydney office of a highly regarded US law firm with a market-leading reputation for complex cross-border transactions.

Working closely with a recognised tax partner, you will advise multinational corporations, private equity sponsors, funds and major corporates on some of the most sophisticated transactions in the Australian market.

This role offers a genuine opportunity to become a key member of a growing practice with significant exposure to clients, business development and high-end international work.

The Role

You will advise on a broad range of matters including:

• M&A transactions and takeovers
• Corporate and debt restructurings
• Cross-border tax structuring
• Private equity and fund investments
• Financing and capital raising transactions
• Tax aspects of inbound and outbound investments
• Tax due diligence and transaction support
• ATO engagements, rulings and disputes

The practice acts on complex domestic and international transactions for multinational clients across a range of industries and sectors.

About You

We are interested in speaking with lawyers who have:

• Approximately 3-6 years' PQE
• Strong corporate tax experience gained at a leading Australian or international law firm
• Experience advising on M&A, restructures, funds or financing transactions
• Exposure to cross-border tax matters
• Excellent technical and drafting skills
• Commercial judgement and strong client relationship abilities
• A desire to build a long-term career within a premium global platform

Experience dealing with the ATO, tax controversy matters or private equity transactions will be highly regarded.
