Job summary

KordaMentha Pty is seeking an Associate to join the Restructuring team in Brisbane. You will support restructuring, turnaround and insolvency engagements, collaborating with clients, senior team members and other stakeholders to navigate complex challenges and identify practical value-preserving solutions.

You will work closely with clients across industries, contribute to business reviews, and leverage data and analytical tools to improve insights and inform decisions.

Qualifications

• Working towards or recently obtained a professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA).
• Three to four years' experience in restructuring, consulting, audit or broader professional services.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of restructuring, turnaround and insolvency engagements across industries.
• Analyse financial, operational and commercial information to identify key issues, risks and opportunities.
• Prepare high-quality reports, presentations and client deliverables for decision-making.
• Work with clients, creditors, management and other stakeholders to gather information and communicate insights.
• Contribute to business reviews, trading administrations, asset realisation processes and formal insolvency appointments.
• Develop practical recommendations and solutions to assist businesses facing financial or strategic challenges.

We are looking for an Associate to join our Restructuring team in Brisbane. In this role, you will support the delivery of restructuring, turnaround and insolvency engagements, helping organisations navigate complex challenges and identify practical solutions that preserve and create value.

You will work closely with clients, senior team members and other stakeholders across a range of industries, contributing to business reviews, restructuring engagements, formal insolvency appointments and strategic advisory work. This is a strong opportunity for someone who is curious, analytical and commercially minded, and wants to build a career in restructuring and advisory while gaining exposure to a diverse range of complex situations and clients.

In this role you will:

• Support the delivery of restructuring, turnaround and insolvency engagements across a broad range of industries.
• Analyse financial, operational and commercial information to identify key issues, risks and opportunities.
• Prepare high-quality reports, presentations and client deliverables that support decision-making and stakeholder outcomes.
• Work closely with clients, creditors, management teams and other stakeholders to gather information and communicate insights.
• Contribute to business reviews, trading administrations, asset realisation processes and formal insolvency appointments.
• Develop practical recommendations and solutions that assist businesses experiencing financial, operational or strategic challenges.
• Leverage data, technology and analytical tools to improve efficiency, enhance insights and support informed decision-making.

Qualifications

What we are looking for

You are working towards, or have recently obtained, a professional accounting qualification (Chartered Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant) and have three to four years' experience in restructuring, consulting, audit or broader professional services.

You will have:

• Curiosity, empathy, integrity and strong interpersonal qualities.
• A desire to work collaboratively and contribute in a team environment.
• Excellent analytical skills supported by an advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel (or a willingness to learn).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills that enable you to interact with clients at all levels (up to C-suite) and across our organisation.
• Structured problem-solving skills.
• Organisation and project management skills and an ability to manage clients and project teams to posively influence change.
• Hands-on experience working in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment.
• Commercial awareness with strong business acumen and advanced emotional intelligence.
