Job summary

SLR Consulting Australia Pty Ltd in Brisbane seeks an Associate Planner to join our Queensland team. We are looking for a Town Planning expert with 10 to 15 years’ experience across energy, construction materials, or infrastructure sectors, capable of managing large multidisciplinary projects and delivering client outcomes.

You will collaborate with industry professionals across APAC, liaise with clients, councils and government agencies, and contribute to business development while mentoring

Qualifications

• A degree in Town Planning or equivalent.
• Proven track record delivering client outcomes.
• Experience in planning advice, DAs, and environmental/land use planning permits.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong client service and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work unsupervised or in a team.

Specifically, we are looking for a Town Planning Super Star, with 10 to 15 years’ experience working across the energy, construction materials, or infrastructure sectors. Client facing consulting experience would be beneficial but not essential if you have experience in managing large complex multidisciplinary projects. While our APAC Planning team is made up of a group of 60+ highly skilled statutory and environmental planners, our QLD team, predominantly located in Brisbane, is made up of 13 planners who share an enthusiastic approach to life and work, creating a supportive team environment that is very eager to welcome new team members. We collaborate closely with our 23 in‑house practices to deliver a comprehensive service to clients across various sectors. In this role you will enjoy collaborative working with industry leading professionals across the APAC SLR community.

Responsibilities

• Managing the delivery of planning approvals of varying levels of complexity

Experience

• A degree in Town Planning or equivalent
• A proven record in delivering client outcomes
• Experience in the preparation and delivery of planning advice and DAs, with an understanding of both environmental and land use planning permits highly regarded
• Demonstrated experience coordinating and managing multidisciplinary projects
• A thorough understanding of project budgets and deliverables while maintaining excellent client service that we are known for
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team
• Ability to take the initiative and be proactive in your workplace and implement new ideas
