We pride ourselves on creating the best content, accessed by consumers when and how they want – across Publishing, Broadcasting and Digital.

Nine’s assets include the 9Network, major mastheads such as The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and The Australian Financial Review, radio stations 2GB, 3AW, 4BC and 6PR, digital properties such as nine.com.au, 9Now, 9Honey, Pedestrian.TV, Drive, subscription video platform Stan and a majority investment in Domain Group.

Our Purpose: We shape culture by sparking conversations, challenging perspectives, and entertaining our communities.

We bring people together by celebrating the big occasions and connecting the everyday moments. Australia belongs here. We bring our purpose to life via three shared values: We walk the talk, turn over every stone and keep it human.

Role overview

This role will be part of the network and infrastructure teams, and will work with both teams on operations and projects across the Nine group, ensuring high-uptime and delivering resilient, secure and high-performance solutions. The role will be involved with any network and infrastructure-related projects in Melbourne, working closely with our stakeholders in TV and Radio Broadcast Engineering teams.

This role is ideal for a proactive, resilient, and self-sufficient individual who is eager to learn and develop. You\'ll need the confidence and drive to solve problems, along with a natural curiosity for continuous growth, especially since the majority of the team is based in Sydney. While support and guidance are readily available, this role is best suited for individuals who are proactive and can work independently.

Day to day, you will;

  • Provide support for Nine’s network and virtualisation infrastructure through effective monitoring of health and utilization, and by responding quickly to incidents and requests.

  • Make impact by working on a variety of, mainly Melbourne-related, projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and meet business requirements. To give you a flavor of this work; one of the current projects is a network migration to a new VXLAN based network design.

  • You’ll protect Nine by ensuring that our security policies are enforced on both existing network and infrastructure solutions and any new initiatives you work on.

  • There may be a requirement to participate in an on-call roster

Qualifications

What you\'ll bring;

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Solid understanding of network and/or infrastructure technologies and concepts.

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen and ask effective questions to quickly resolve issues or elicit requirements.

  • Highly motivated to learn and develop additional network and infrastructure skills, with a genuine drive for this career path.

  • An interest in developing Infrastructure as code

  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks concurrently, accurately assess current states, and drive toward desired outcomes.

Desirable qualifications, experience & skills

  • Hands-on experience with software development and/or scripting & automation (Powershell and Ansible preferred)

  • Previous experience within the media or technology industry is desirable.

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet network solutions

  • Hands-on experience with ActiveDirectory, AzureAD, Windows/Linux, VMware, Storage, SSO

  • CCNA and/or CompTIA Tech+ Knowledge Level ( Cert not strictly required )

If you can demonstrate a genuine interest in networking and infrastructure and you are naturally curious with a growth mindset, anything is possible at Nine!
