Job summary

Mercy Health in Heidelberg is seeking an experienced Associate Midwifery Unit Manager to lead a skilled team of midwives in delivering holistic, patient-centred care. You will guide clinical practice, support staff development and ensure high-quality outcomes across the unit.

You will strengthen leadership, manage competing priorities, and apply your clinical expertise to high-risk pregnancies while promoting physiological birth where possible.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a midwifery team in a tertiary setting preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and demonstrate clinical judgement.
• Competence in obstetric procedures listed or willingness to obtain/maintain.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience as an Associate Midwifery Unit Manager (preferably in a tertiary centre)
• Level 3 RANZCOG practitioner status
• Competence to Perform IV Cannulation, Balloon Catheter Insertion for Induction of Labour, Waterbirth and Perineal Suturing (or working towards)
• Knowledge of managing high risk, complicated pregnancies and birth, but also possess the skills and desire to facilitate physiological birth where possible

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

• A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
• Proof of current vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
