Job summary

University of the Sunshine Coast, Hervey Bay, QLD, invites applications for a full-time, fixed-term academic position in the School of Health. You will deliver contemporary nursing programs, strengthen industry partnerships, and grow your research profile while contributing to work-integrated learning opportunities.

You will hold a Graduate Certificate in nursing and AHPRA registration, teach across curricula, collaborate on research, and engage with professional bodies.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Graduate Certificate in the nursing discipline and registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
• Effectiveness as a teacher including the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to relevant areas of teaching;
• Research experience and potential including for example: refereed publications, participation in research teams and sound knowledge of research methodologies relevant to the discipline/field;
• Membership of and sound connections with relevant professional bodies and community groups and/or in professional practice;
• Strong personal qualities and collegial approaches that contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive academic environment which is conducive to engagement and achievement for both staff and students;
• The desire to participate in academic development activities and continue to learn and improve as an effective academic;

Responsibilities

• Maintain discipline currency and contribute to continuous improvement of teaching practice, including scholarly approaches and practitioner research in learning and teaching;
• Contribute to research productivity by developing a research agenda, collaborating in research teams, securing funding opportunities, and disseminating findings to academic and broader audiences; and
• Build and sustain strategic internal and external partnerships that enhance teaching, research, work-integrated learning, and broader University engagement outcomes.

You will
