Job summary

NSW Department of Industry is seeking an Associate Director, Urban Renewable Energy, to lead policy reform unlocking energy potential of NSW cities. Based in Parramatta with hybrid working, this temporary full-time role reports to the Exec Director, Climate Change & Strategy.

You will shape policy, regulatory frameworks, and engage stakeholders to support net zero while building a high-performing team and guiding Cabinet and government decision processes.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading complex policy, legislative and regulatory reform in renewable energy or public policy.
• Experience coordinating Cabinet, parliamentary or government approval processes.
• Strong strategic thinking and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead urban renewable energy policy, legislative and regulatory reforms.
• Provide strategic advice to senior executives and government decision-makers.
• Lead policy contributions to Cabinet, parliamentary and government approval processes.
• Build relationships across government, industry, consumer groups and advocacy organisations.
• Lead consultation and engagement processes to inform policy development.
• Lead and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
