Role Overview
In the role of Associate Director, you will report to the Head of Indigenous Banking and be part of our Marketing & Communications team that’s focused on Customer Obsession.
Responsibilities
- Drive the growth of the Indigenous Business and Community specialisation within the region, focusing on clients, revenue, and balance sheet expansion.
- Support the connection of collective Indigenous community organisations and Indigenous businesses in your area.
- Collaborate closely with front-line Bankers, Customer Lending Solutions, Fulfilment, Credit, and specialist Product teams to deliver for customers within your region.
- Be the face of Indigenous Business and Community for NAB, participating in industry and local government policy forums and advocating for the Indigenous Businesses and Community sector.
- Support the rollout of the Indigenous Business and Community Banker accreditation for B&PB bankers.
Requirements
- Demonstrated understanding of the cultural, political, and commercial landscape for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People.
- Experience in translating high-level customer strategic opportunities into deals through effective partnerships with customers and bankers across Australia.
- Strong commercial acumen to understand banking opportunities aligned with the bank’s and customer’s risk appetite.
- Ability to build a strong, diverse customer/deal team that can anticipate and meet Indigenous business and community needs.
- Ability to establish authentic relationships within your local Indigenous Business Chamber of Commerce and various community groups to develop business leads.
- Extensive experience within the financial services sector, including business, corporate, credit, or specialized business.
- Previous experience in banking customer portfolio management, credit decisioning, memorandum preparation, and actioning for business customer applications.
- Demonstrated experience with the Indigenous business sector, or evidence of a deep understanding of this industry.
- A degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, or Accounting, or demonstrated evidence of strong commercial acumen in a professional environment.
