Job description

What if you could do the kind of work the world needs?

•Open to various levels of experience, Project Manager, Senior Engineer or Associate.
•Work on iconic projects & develop your career within a highly skilled team.

At WSP, you can access our global scale, contribute to landmark projects and connect with the brightest minds in your field to do the best work of your life. You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives. You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.

This role will see you become a leader, thereby enhancing your capabilities and the reputation of WSP’s Property and Buildings team. You will collaborate with talented and diverse professionals working on iconic projects to drive future ready outcomes that will benefit clients and communities.

Our Property and Buildings team is a world-leading management and technical consultancy operating across all sectors. We are passionate about tackling the complex and sophisticated challenges of the built environment and delivering innovative and sustainable solutions to create accessible, resilient and liveable communities.

Our Brisbane team is working on small, medium and large projects across a range of sectors, including projects in Defence and DFAT. But we have a national team approach to all our projects, which means you will work on projects across Australia, not just projects in QLD, ensuring you gain a breadth of experience across a diverse range of projects and industries.

You’ll scope and steer civil works from concept through detailed design and construction support, coordinate inputs from roads, drainage, utilities and pavements, and bring a pragmatic eye for buildability, safety and whole‑of‑life performance. You’ll be a trusted advisor to clients and partners—facilitating workshops, de‑risking decisions, and shaping clear, compliant deliverables—while mentoring our emerging engineers and championing digital design and quality standards.

If you enjoy variety, accountability and the chance to move between city‑shaping transport, nation‑critical defence, and low‑carbon infrastructure, this role offers real impact and a platform to grow your leadership.

What you’ll do:

  • The opportunity to work on iconic projects within a multi-disciplined engineering team to deliver a range of civil engineering design projects.
  • Carry out assigned project and design work as part of an integral team adhering to technical and commercial standards.
  • Manage ongoing communication and highly effective professional relationships with clients.
  • Lead and deliver current civil engineering projects from inception through to construction in support of technical and commercial standards, and within time constraints and cost budgets.
  • Work in a varied, hands-on role with a leadership angle across design management, superintendency and site surveillance.
  • Delegate and supervise the work of junior engineers.
  • Partner effectively with internal and external stakeholders and be committed to team approach and outcomes.

At WSP you’ll find the scale and reach you need to do the kind of work the world needs – and the culture and people that make it the best work of your life.

About You

  • 5-10 years industry experience within the Building and Property sector.
  • Commercial experience in Australia on local medium/large building civil engineering projects is essential.
  • Well versed in effectively delivering multiple, concurrent projects ranging in scale and sector, e.g. commercial, residential, industrial, land development, subdivisions and infrastructure/roads.
  • Strong client relationship management and project management skills.
  • Highly developed customer-focus, leadership, teamwork, interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Sound working knowledge of relevant local Australian Standards and Codes (AS/NZS 3500, NCC etc.).
  • Experience with Earthworks, roadworks, stormwater drainage and utilities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Design software eg; 12D, Civil 3D etc.
