Associate Director, Asset Management - NSW Government

  • Location: Sydney CBD (Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days WFH)
  • Assignment Duration: 6 months with potential to extend
  • Pay Rate: $79.80 per hour + Super
  • Hours: Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week
About the Role

We’re seeking a highly capable and strategic Associate Director, Asset Management to join a NSW Government agency at the forefront of infrastructure investment and assurance. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring government infrastructure and asset management programs are robust, aligned to strategic objectives, and delivered with transparency and impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead assurance review activities, including planning sessions and reviews of agency asset management artefacts.
  • Coordinate the development of Asset Management Communities of Practice and drive continuous improvement in asset management capability.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and advice for executive and Cabinet stakeholders.
  • Lead special projects focused on improving the performance and accountability of the NSW asset portfolio.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to deliver meaningful analysis of trends, risks, and performance across infrastructure programs.
  • Provide leadership within the team, overseeing work allocation, development, and performance.
Key Challenges
  • Interpreting and synthesising complex information to inform clear and actionable advice.
  • Managing multiple stakeholders with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensuring the timely delivery of strategic policy initiatives amidst shifting priorities.
Ideal Candidates

You’ll bring:
  • A strong background in infrastructure, asset management, or public sector project assurance.
  • Experience working within or alongside government agencies or public sector frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Confidence navigating complex policy environments and managing competing deadlines.
