Job summary

ASPECT Studios in Sydney is seeking a Senior Associate to lead and contribute to diverse landscape architecture and urban design projects. The role focuses on guiding the Sydney Studio’s senior team, mentoring junior designers, and delivering high-quality design outcomes that benefit communities and the environment.

You will manage projects end-to-end, contribute to submissions and design strategy, supervise staff, and help secure prominent projects.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in landscape architecture, urban design or architecture.
• 8+ years’ experience in leading senior design teams.
• Experience managing projects from concept to contract documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from concept design to contract documentation and administration.
• Assist with submissions and proposals; contribute to design strategy.
• Supervise junior staff and direct reports with mentorship and delegation.
• Enforce design quality by reviewing team outputs and ensuring standards.
• Prepare high-quality documentation and present to external clients.
• Assist in sourcing new clients and high-profile projects for the studio.

About You

We are seeking a degree qualified, experienced Landscape Architect, Urban Designer or Architect with 8+ years’ experience to join our senior team in the Sydney Studio, to lead and contribute to a selection of unique projects.
Providing supportive mentorship and guidance to junior designers and direct reports, you will hit the ground running and contribute meaningfully to projects that matter – to the community, to the environment, and to the planet.

The successful Associate will have experience in:

• Managing projects of a range of scales, from concept design and master planning to contract documentation and administration,
• Assisting with development of submissions and proposals, and contributing to preparation of project related design strategy,
• Supervising junior staff and direct reports, providing mentorship and delegation of responsibilities as they grow their skills and deliver on projects,
• Enforcing design quality, including reviewing work completed by team reports,
• Preparing high quality documentation and confidently presenting to external client groups on project related matters, and
• Assisting with the sourcing of new clients and prominent challenging projects for the studio.
