Urbis is seeking an Assistant Valuer in their Sydney team to support valuations and advisory work across New South Wales. You will work alongside an experienced Director to gain hands-on experience in property valuations, inspections, and client-facing projects.

This opportunity suits a penultimate-year student or recent graduate aiming to start a career in the property industry, with support toward becoming a Certified Practising Valuer (CPV).

Qualifications

  • API accredited degree in progress or recently completed.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Effective report writing skills desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality valuation services.
  • Assist in valuations, inspections, and client-focused projects.
  • Work with Directors to gain hands-on experience in property valuations.
  • Conduct title and planning searches to support project work.
  • Review lease documentation with attention to detail.
  • Analyze investment and development transactions.
  • Gather market data on property sales and rentals.
  • Maintain and update sales and rental databases.
  • Perform financial analysis and cash flow modelling for valuations.
  • Prepare clear, well-structured written advice and presentations.

The opportunity & how you will make an impact.

As an Assistant Valuer in our Sydney team, you'll play an important role in supporting the preparation of valuations and advice that facilitate land acquisitions, divestments and Precinct delivery across New South Wales.

Working alongside an experienced Director, you'll gain hands-on exposure to a broad range of property valuations, inspections, and client-focused projects. From day one, you'll build practical skills, strengthen professional relationships, and develop the technical expertise needed for a successful career in valuation.

This opportunity is ideal for a penultimate-year student or recent graduate looking to kick-start their career in the property industry. We'll also support you on your journey towards becoming a Certified Practising Valuer (CPV).

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with team members to deliver outstanding service to internal and external clients.
  • Escalating matters to senior staff to ensure the best outcomes.
  • Building connections with peers in other business units to share knowledge and insights.
  • Joining qualified Valuers on property inspections to gain hands-on experience.
  • Conducting online title and town planning searches to support project work.
  • Reviewing and summarising lease documentation with attention to detail.
  • Researching and analysing investment and development transactions.
  • Gathering and interpreting market data on property sales and rentals.
  • Maintaining and updating sales and rental databases.
  • Undertaking financial analysis and cash flow modelling to support valuations.
  • Preparing clear, well-structured written advice and presentations.
About You

  • API accredited degree in progress or recently completed;
