Job summary

General Pants is seeking an energetic Assistant Store Manager for our Murray Street store in Perth. You will support the Store Manager in daily operations, drive performance, and deliver a strong in-store experience.

You will lead team development, handle scheduling within wage budgets, and stepping up in the Store Manager's absence to ensure smooth operations and exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum experience in a retail supervisory or management role with a proven sales track record.
• Strong commercial awareness with KPI and wage budget experience.
• Proven ability to coach and develop teams in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

About the Role

General Pants is one of Australia and New Zealand’s most iconic fashion retailers, and we’re looking for an energetic Assistant Store Manager to help lead the team and bring the GP brand to life in our Murray Street store. If you’re ambitious, love being on the floor, and ready for the next step in your retail leadership career, this could be the role for you.

As Assistant Store Manager, you’ll support the Store Manager in leading day-to-day store operations, driving performance, and delivering a strong in-store experience. You’ll play a key role in team leadership and step up into higher responsibilities when required.

What You Will Be Doing

• Driving the team to achieve sales targets, KPI goals and wage budgets in line with GP expectations
• Delivering an exceptional customer experience, resolving issues with empathy and care
• Supporting rostering to ensure the right coverage while staying within the store wage budget
• Leading store walkthroughs and VM execution to keep product placement commercial and on-brand
• Stepping up in the Store Manager's absence, including payroll, timecards and full store operations
• Coaching and developing the team, setting the standard for leadership and culture on the floor

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 1 year’s experience in a retail supervisory or management role with a proven track record of delivering sales results
• Strong commercial awareness, with experience supporting KPIs, wage budgets and store operations
• A proven ability to coach and develop team members in a fast-paced retail environment
• A genuine passion for delivering an exceptional, customer-first experience
