Job summary

Autobarn in Maroochydore, Queensland is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead daily operations, drive sales and develop a customer-focused team. You will work closely with the Store Manager to guide staff, ensure inventory accuracy and deliver exceptional service in a dynamic automotive retail environment.

Reporting to the Store Manager, you will coach and motivate the team, manage stock and supervise store activities to meet KPIs while maintaining a safe, welcoming store.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a retail team or assistant management role.
• Proven ability to drive sales and meet KPIs.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Experience with inventory, stock control and store operations.
• Automotive retail experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day store operations and lead on sales initiatives.
• Promote products, upsell and achieve sales targets.
• Assist customers with parts and accessories advice.
• Coach and develop shop-floor team members.
• Cover store leadership in the Store Manager's absence.

What you’ll be responsible for

As Assistant Store Manager, you will support and contribute to:

• Creating a safe, positive and well‑run store environment
• Driving sales by promoting products, upselling, and meeting sales targets
• Assisting customers with automotive parts and accessories advice
• Coaching, motivating and developing team members on the shop floor
• Assisting with inventory, stock control and deliveries
• Supporting the Store Manager in day‑to‑day operational leadership
• Taking responsibility for the store in the absence of the Store Manager

Qualifications

Who we're looking for

You’ll bring a strong retail mindset and a genuine desire to lead and grow people. Ideally, you’ll have:

• Experience in a retail leadership or assistant management role
• Excellent customer service skills with a proven ability to drive sales and achieve KPIs
• Ability to coach and motivate a team
• Exposure to inventory, stock management and store operations
• Experience in retail or automotive industry (advantageous but not essential)
• A positive, hands‑on attitude and a willingness to keep learning
