Autobarn in Tasmania is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead from the front, support daily operations, and drive sales. You will work closely with the Store Manager to develop a customer-focused team that takes pride in getting it right.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, coaching, and delivering exceptional service while achieving store targets andmaintaining an engaging, inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail leadership or assistant management role.
• Excellent customer service skills with ability to drive sales and achieve KPIs.
• Ability to coach and motivate a team.
• Exposure to inventory, stock management and store operations.
• Experience in retail or automotive industry (advantageous but not essential).
• Positive, hands-on attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, positive and well-run store environment.
• Drive sales by promoting products, upselling, and meeting sales targets.
• Assist customers with automotive parts and accessories advice.
• Coach, motivate and develop team members on the shop floor.
• Assist with inventory, stock control and deliveries.
• Support the Store Manager in day-to-day operational leadership.
• Take responsibility for the store in the absence of the Store Manager.

What you’ll be responsible for

Qualifications

You’ll bring a strong retail mindset and a genuine desire to lead and grow people. Ideally, you’ll have:

• Experience in a retail leadership or assistant management role

• Exposure to inventory, stock management and store operations
• Experience in retail or automotive industry (advantageous but not essential)
• A positive, hands‑on attitude and a willingness to keep learning
