Guzman y Gomez Mexican Kitchen is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager in Australia to lead a busy service, coach Crew and Shift Leaders, and drive exceptional guest experiences. You’ll partner with the Restaurant Manager to enhance performance, food safety, and financial metrics while fostering a positive team culture.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on leadership on the floor, strong communication, and proven ability to manage KPIs in a quick-service environment.

We're looking for a high-performing Assistant Restaurant Manager who is ready to take ownership, lead from the front and play a key role in the success of our restaurant.

Working closely with the Restaurant Manager, you'll be part of the leadership team responsible for delivering outstanding restaurant operations. You'll lead busy services, recruit and develop our crew and Shift Leaders, drive performance, contribute to managing the overall resturant finacials, ensure compliance across food and people safety and help create a culture where people enjoy coming to work and guests love coming back.

What You'll Be Responsible For

As an Assistant Restaurant Manager, you’ll take ownership across all areas of restaurant performance, including:

• Leading the restaurant through busy service periods and setting the standard on shift
• Coaching, training and developing Crew and Shift Leaders
• Creating an energetic, positive and high-performing team culture
• Delivering an exceptional guest experience every day
• Driving operational KPIs across service, quality, sales, labour and food costs
• Supporting rostering, recruitment and people management
• Managing inventory, ordering, stock control and restaurant financial performance
• Maintaining GYG's high standards across food quality, safety and restaurant presentation
• Working alongside the Restaurant Manager to identify opportunities and continuously improve restaurant performance

• Confidence leading and motivating a team during high-volume periods

• The ability to coach people, provide feedback and build capable teams
• A hands-on leadership style — you’re comfortable leading from the floor and setting the standard yourself
• A positive, accountable and solutions-focused approach

Previous quick-service restaurant experience is valuable, but great leadership matters more to us than where you’ve worked before.
