Job summary

The Rebelo Group in Newstead, QLD, is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our dynamic hospitality team. This full-time role offers an opportunity to develop your management skills within a respected hospitality organisation, supporting the Restaurant Manager to deliver exceptional service and operational excellence.

You will lead front-of-house and back-of-house teams, oversee scheduling and training, ensure safety compliance, and contribute to cost control and guest experiences

Qualifications

• Experience in a restaurant or hospitality management role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of restaurant operations, POS systems, and inventory management.
• Understanding of health, safety, and food hygiene compliance requirements.
• Customer service excellence and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with hospitality software and computer systems.
• Certification in hospitality management or food safety would be advantageous.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Restaurant Manager in daily operations and service delivery.
• Supervise front-of-house and back-of-house staff; manage scheduling and training.
• Maintain high customer service standards and promptly address guest concerns.
• Manage reservations, seating and guest flow for optimal dining experience.
• Monitor stock levels and food waste for cost-effective operations.
• Ensure health, safety and food hygiene compliance.
• Support marketing initiatives and promotional activities.
• Handle cash, payments, and reconcile financial records.
• Maintain restaurant standards, cleanliness and presentation.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding and staff development programs.
