Job summary

El Jannah in Sydney is seeking an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the Restaurant Manager with daily operations, service quality, safety and cleanliness. You will lead from the floor, coach the team and help deliver outstanding guest experiences in a fast-paced environment.

You will play a hands-on role, managing rosters, onboarding new team members and contributing to strong commercial performance while upholding EJ Way values and a guest-first culture.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years' experience in a QSR or fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Proven experience leading or supporting teams in a leadership role.
• Strong communication and people leadership skills.
• Ability to lead calmly under pressure and maintain service standards.
• Solid knowledge of food safety, WHS and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support the Restaurant Manager in leading daily restaurant operations.
• Champion EJ Way with guest-first culture and high service standards.
• Lead, coach, inspire, energise and develop team members and Shift Leaders.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and performance management.
• Prepare and manage rosters in line with requirements and budgets.
• Oversee food safety, cleanliness and WHS standards.
• Manage stock levels, deliveries and inventory controls.
• Support payroll processes and administrative tasks.
• Help drive sales and control costs to meet KPIs.
• Build a positive, inclusive workplace and strong team engagement.

About The Role

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the day-to-day leadership and operations of one of our restaurants. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager, you'll help lead the team, drive high standards across food quality, service, safety and cleanliness, and contribute to strong commercial performance.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading from the front and building a positive, high-performing team culture. What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting the Restaurant Manager in leading daily restaurant operations
• Championing the EJ Way, a guest-first culture and ensuring consistently high service standards
• Leading, coaching, inspiring, energising and developing team members and Shift Leaders
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding and performance management
• Preparing and managing rosters in line with operational requirements, labour budgets and compliance
• Overseeing food safety, cleanliness and WHS standards
• Managing stock levels, deliveries and inventory controls
• Supporting payroll processes and administrative tasks
• Helping drive sales, manage costs and deliver against restaurant KPIs
• Building strong team engagement and a positive, inclusive workplace

What We're Looking For

• 2-4 years' experience in a QSR or fast-paced hospitality environment
• Proven experience supporting or leading teams in a leadership role
• Strong communication and people leadership skills
• A calm, confident approach with the ability to lead under pressure
• Sound understanding of food safety, WHS and operational compliance
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• A genuine passion for food, people and guest experience
• Availability to work flexible rosters, including evenings and weekends
