Job summary

El Jannah in New South Wales is seeking an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to support daily operations, lead from the floor and build a high‑performing team culture. You’ll work closely with the Restaurant Manager to drive quality, service, safety and strong commercial performance.

This hands-on leadership role suits someone who thrives on people leadership and delivering great guest experiences, with opportunities to grow within a fast-paced national brand.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years' experience in a QSR or fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Experience supporting or leading teams in a leadership role.
• Excellent communication and people leadership skills.
• Calm, confident approach with ability to lead under pressure.
• Solid understanding of food safety, WHS and operational compliance.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• Genuine passion for food, people and guest experience.
• Availability for flexible rosters including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily restaurant operations alongside the Restaurant Manager.

• Coach, inspire, energise and develop team members and shift leaders.

About The Role

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the day-to-day leadership and operations of one of our restaurants. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager, you'll help lead the team, drive high standards across food quality, service, safety and cleanliness, and contribute to strong commercial performance.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading from the front and building a positive, high-performing team culture. Whether you're already in an Assistant Manager role or ready to step up from a senior leadership position, this is an opportunity to grow with a brand that invests in its leaders.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting the Restaurant Manager in leading daily restaurant operations
• Championing the EJ Way, a guest-first culture and ensuring consistently high service standards
• Leading, coaching, inspiring, energising and developing team members and Shift Leaders
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding and performance management
• Preparing and managing rosters in line with operational requirements, labour budgets and compliance
• Overseeing food safety, cleanliness and WHS standards
• Managing stock levels, deliveries and inventory controls
• Supporting payroll processes and administrative tasks
• Helping drive sales, manage costs and deliver against restaurant KPIs
• Building strong team engagement and a positive, inclusive workplace

What We're Looking For

• 2-4 years' experience in a QSR or fast-paced hospitality environment
• Proven experience supporting or leading teams in a leadership role
