Job summary

Guzman y Gomez Mexican Kitchen in Rockhampton is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the Restaurant Manager with day-to-day operations, lead a young team through busy service, and drive guest experience.

You will spearhead crew training, manage inventory and finances, and contribute to rostering and cost controls, with a focus on delivering authentic Mexican hospitality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a busy, high-volume hospitality or QSR environment.
• Proven track record of achieving KPIs and driving performance.
• Strong communication and people leadership skills with a positive approach.

Responsibilities

Job Description

At Guzman y Gomez, we believe in authentic flavors and the power of food to bring people together. As an Assistant Restaurant Manager at GYG, you will be supporting the Restaurant Manager with day-to-day operations, as well as guiding the team through bustling service periods. You will spearhead crew training, elevate the guest experience, and contribute to the management of inventory and finances.

We value diverse experience, but we’re specifically looking for candidates who have:

• Leadership Experience - Previous leadership experience in a busy, high-volume hospitality or QSR environment.
• Performance Focus: A proven track record of achieving KPIs, with the ability to identify opportunities and drive strong team performance.
• People Skills - Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to lead, motivate and develop a young team.
• Attitude - A positive, can-do attitude, high emotional intelligence and a genuine passion for food and hospitality.
• Availability - Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including mornings, evenings and weekends.
