Position Purpose:
To actively participate in developing and maintaining a culture that promotes and respects the Odyssey Code of Conduct and the vision, and values of Odyssey Health Group in which the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual wellbeing of the residents is paramount.
To provide restaurant services to residents to ensure compliance with the Retirement Village Act and Odyssey Health Group Application for Residence
Key Requirements:
- Enjoy practical work & excellent customer service
- Use POS to take orders and process payment for meals
- Take meal orders for residents & visitors
- Able to work quickly and safely with minimal supervision
- Good personal hygiene
- Able to work under pressure
- Able to work as part of a team and lead a team on your allocated shift
Key Skills/Experience:
- Experience in the Hospitality Industry or Aged Care or Retirement Living as restaurant supervisor.
- Ability to understand and react responsively to resident needs, problem solving where necessary
- Ability to work as a team member within a structured environment
- Strong commitment to working with older persons
- Sound written and oral communication skills – fluent in both written and spoken English
- Demonstrated commitment towards professional development and maintenance of mandatory online training, competencies, and education
Key Responsibilities:
General
Role and Responsibilities – Assistant Restaurant Manager
· Assist in leading the front of house team with excellence in service.
· Implement processes and procedures recommend enhancement of supply ordering functionality and check timeframe
· Assist with rostering
· Coordinate with Restaurant Manager and Head Chef for all HRD issues
· Maintain and ensure compliance with regulatory standards for organisational policies
· Ordering and stock take/inventory count
· Assist with training to FOH within food service department
· Maintain upkeep of safety and sanitation standard at highest level and ensure compliance with all regulatory boards
· Assist with communication and perform troubleshooting on various process and initiate in appropriate decision making
· Prepare any necessary reports, forms, end of day - daily POS lightspeed reconciliation and ensure completion within appropriate timeframe
· Oversee completion of the daily meals, billing, reconciliation including monitoring of payment for extras, delivery’s, visitor and staff meals to ensure no leakage
· Perform regular cleaning inspection of restaurant, kitchen and dining room for cleanliness and proper operation of equipment
· Perform regular inventory check to ensure stock levels and dates of produce
· Assist in streamlining operations – Hands on approach
· Assist in Handling team conflicts
· Enforcing safety protocols

Performance Review and Development Process
In accordance with the Odyssey Performance, Review and Development process an initial review of performance will be undertaken within the six-month probation period and then at least every 12 months, including a review of performance against this position description.
