Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) seeks an outstanding educational leader to join our leadership team as Assistant Principal at St Joseph's Primary School, North Ipswich. This substantive 5-year appointment supports the Principal in curriculum, assessment and data-informed practice to ensure excellence and equity for all learners.

Key responsibilities include building a vibrant Catholic identity, enhancing student engagement and wellbeing, and ensuring compliant systems and reporting across BCE

Qualifications

• Experience as an Assistant Principal or equivalent leadership role in Catholic schooling.
• Experience in teaching and leading religious education.
• Catholic faith commitment is required.

Responsibilities

• Model and embed a contemporary Catholic worldview within curriculum design, pedagogy and assessment practices.
• Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of a compliant whole-school curriculum aligned with BCE frameworks and system expectations.
• Lead the development of high-impact pedagogical practices that improve student learning outcomes across all year levels.
• Oversee the development and implementation of assessment frameworks that are aligned with QCAA and BCE expectations.
• Collaborate with inclusive education leaders to ensure curriculum access and participation for all learners.
• Work collaboratively as a member of the Campus Leadership Team to align teaching and learning priorities with BCE strategic direction.
• Ensure all curriculum, assessment and reporting practices comply with BCE policies, QCAA requirements and legislative expectations.
• Ensure clear, timely and professional communication with parents and caregivers regarding student learning progress and curriculum matters.
• Contribute to whole-school strategic planning, improvement agendas and review processes aligned with BCE frameworks.

This position plays a key role in leading teaching and learning, curriculum implementation, assessment, data-informed practice, and professional growth to ensure excellence and equity for all learners.

• Salary: $149,763.00 - $157,120.00 + Super

Please note: This is a substantive 5 year appointment as Assistant Principal (with a further 5 years offered subject to a positive review), with an underlying continuing teaching status.

About You

• Experience as an Assistant Principal, Assistant Principal Religious Education, Deputy Principal, Head of Campus or Principal, or a senior role providing support and leadership to Catholic schools, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in teaching, and leading the teaching of, religious education.
• You are required to be Catholic for this position.

Eligibility And Safeguarding Requirements

• Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
• Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
• For this position you are required to be Catholic (or a faith partner of one of our ecumenical schools).
