Job summary

Encore Global in Melbourne is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day execution of events, leading the onsite technical team to deliver exceptional client experiences across hybrid and live settings.

You will coordinate operations, coach and develop staff, manage rosters and equipment, and foster collaboration between operations, sales and venue partners to deliver seamless events.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Background in production is desirable.
  • Proven experience working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly developed customer service skills.
  • Time management skills; the ability to manage multiple and competing deadlines.
  • Excellent decision making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operational execution of events by leading the technical team onsite.
  • Maintain event standards and performance of the onsite technical team.
  • Assist the operations manager with resource planning to meet business demands.
  • Identify growth opportunities for the technical team and guide their success.
  • Foster effective communication between operations, sales, and the technical team.
  • Attend weekly resource and equipment planning meetings to support the team.
  • Ensure clear information flow between crew, operations and venue partners.
  • Complete daily paperwork for the technical team and manage show folders for information flow.
  • Run weekly roster checks and coordinate with the workforce coordinator to resource and train the team.

The Opportunity

To oversee and lead the day-to-day execution of events in the venue, ensuring the successful delivery of exceptional client experiences through effective leadership of the technical team.

The Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating operations day to day, maintaining high service standards, and providing ongoing support, coaching, and development to the technical team.

Core Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the day to day operational execution of events by leading the technical team onsite to deliver exceptional events and work with our venue partner.
  • Maintaining event standards and performance of the onsite technical team
  • Assisting the operations manager in effective resource planning to ensure business demands are met and our technical team are supported.
  • Help nourish and identify growth opportunities for our technical team by leading them to success.
  • Help foster good communication between operations and sales team through to the technical team.
  • Assist the operations manager by attending weekly resource and equipment planning meetings to ensure the technical team are supported.
  • Ensure effective communication is maintained between crew, operations and venue partners.
  • Complete the daily paperwork for the technical team and oversee show folders from the
    sales team to ensure technical team have the right flow of information.
  • Complete weekly roster checks and work with the onsite workforce coordinator to ensure technical team are being appropriately resourced, trained and developed and meet client and business needs
Your Background
