Job summary

Serco is seeking an Assistant Maritime Warfare Instructor to support high-quality maritime warfare training within the Bridge Training Faculty. You will work with a collaborative team to create realistic simulation environments and build capability across naval personnel, blending technical expertise with hands-on training delivery, ensuring safety and alignment with Defence requirements.

You will play a meaningful part in shaping future maritime operations, delivering bridge warfare training,

Qualifications

• RAN bridge or operations room experience required.
• Proven ability to train others and deliver instruction.
• Excellent communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to obtain NV1+ clearance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and structured environments.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of bridge warfare training using simulation systems.
• Operate and prepare bridge simulators for training scenarios.
• Provide tactical communications and ship emulation during exercises.
• Contribute to development of training materials and course improvements.
• Maintain compliance with Defence and Serco training standards.
• Participate in debriefs and continuous improvement of outcomes.

You’ll work closely with a collaborative team to create realistic simulation environments and help build capability across naval personnel. As An Assistant Maritime Warfare Instructor In The Navigation And Synthetic Warfare Training Team, You’ll Make a Positive Impact By

• Supporting delivery of bridge warfare training using simulation systems


• Operating and preparing bridge simulators for realistic training scenarios


• Providing tactical communications and whole-of-ship emulation during exercises


• Contributing to development of training materials and course improvements


• Maintaining compliance with Defence and Serco training standards


• Participating in debriefs and continuous improvement of training outcomes

• Experience as an RAN sailor in a bridge or operations room environment

• Simulation systems experience or willingness to learn

• Be able to achieve and maintain a defence security clearance of NV1 or higher
