Job summary

ALH Hotels is recruiting an Assistant Manager for the Summer Hill Hotel, a friendly community pub. The base salary starts at 80,000 AUD with super, plus a bonus scheme and group-wide discounts. You’ll help run daily operations, lead a team, and ensure a welcoming, energetic atmosphere for locals and visitors alike.

Located near the train station, the venue offers live sports, an inclusive menu and events spaces. The role requires hands-on leadership and physical duties as part of regular duties.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physical tasks safely (manual handling, lifting, moving stock).
• Experience in bar, bistro, or gaming room with some supervising is preferred.
• Current RSA and RCG as per state requirements are mandatory.

• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe.
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends.

We’re on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep the Summer Hill Hotelbuzzing and loved by the locals.

Located right next to the train station, the Summer Hill Hotel has been the heart of the local community since 1967. We’re a fun, trendy, and welcoming pub offering a highly inclusive menu, live sports, and great event spaces. Join our team and help us continue to be everything a true local should be.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands‑on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA and RCG as per state requirements
