Job summary

ALH Hotels is hiring an Assistant Manager to help keep our venues buzzing and loved by locals. You will work hands-on, lead a team, and support the Publican to run the pub safely with a great vibe.

Ideal candidates bring hospitality experience, a track record of supervising teams, and current RSA and RSG/RCG certifications. Join a dynamic, people-first team within the Endeavour Group network.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role requiring physical tasks such as moving stock and deliveries.
• Past supervisory or team-leading experience in bar, bistro, or gaming venues.
• Current RSA and RSG/RCG certifications as per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe.
• Lead a team of hospo staff across shifts and cover when needed.
• Provide energy, service, and smiles on every shift.
• Manage day-to-day operations and resolve issues quickly.

Job description

We’re on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep our venues buzzing and loved by the locals.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands‑on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA and RSG/RCG as per state requirements
