Job summary

Lockies Hotel is seeking an Assistant Manager to help keep the pub buzzing with a welcoming, community‑focused vibe. You will support the Publican, lead a team of hospo professionals, and ensure smooth, safe operations across bar, bistro and gaming spaces.

The role requires a current RSA, RCG and ARCG, and involves manual handling. You’ll engage with locals, uphold service standards, and be the face of the pub when the boss is away.

We’re on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep the Lockies Hotel buzzing and loved by the locals.

Located on Camden Valley Way in Leppington, Lockies Hotel blends classic pub culture with warm, country-style hospitality. Set among the gum trees, our venue boasts a expansive beer garden, a bustling family-friendly bistro, and a dedicated Sports Bar complete with big screens and a classic pub menu. From casual after-work drinks to large family events, Lockies is the premier local destination for the community.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew


• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe


• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends


• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches


• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising


• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up


• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away


• You’ve got a current RSA, RCG and ARCG as per state requirements
