Job summary

KPMG in Sydney is seeking an Assistant Manager to join the Business Services & Tax Advisory team. You will provide tax and accounting advice to a diverse range of SMEs, family groups and private entities while engaging with senior leaders.

You will develop technical expertise across tax and accounting compliance, work closely with client engagements, and mentor less experienced team members as you grow in the role.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of post-graduate advisory experience in an accounting firm specialising in Australian tax and accounting services.
• Bachelor of Business (Accounting) or equivalent from an Australian institution.
• Experience in preparation of financial statements, BAS and income tax returns for all entity types.
• Knowledge of common structures and corporate groups, with the ability to manage compliance with Division 7A and trust distribution.

Responsibilities

• Provide tax and accounting advice and solutions to a diverse portfolio including SMEs, family groups, trusts and partnerships.
• Develop technical expertise across tax and accounting compliance and business/tax advisory work for middle market clients.
• Play a key role across client engagements including regular client contact and meetings with senior leaders.
• Develop into a mentor to assist other team members and support their development.

• Provide tax and accounting advice and solutions to a diverse portfolio which includes small to medium sized entities, family and privately owned businesses, trusts and partnerships, foreign subsidiaries and small listed entities
• Further develop your technical expertise working across services including tax and accounting compliance and business/tax advisory work for middle market clients
• Play a key role across the full scope of client engagements including regular client contact and attending client presentations and meetings with senior leaders
• Develop into a mentor to assist other less experienced team members and encourage their continued professional development
