$65,828 - $72,079 per annum + 12.75% super

About Geriatric Evaluation and Management Unit

The Geriatric Evaluation and Management Unit (GEM) provides comprehensive care for older patients with geriatric syndromes. This Unit also offers multidisciplinary support for both functional and cognitive decline.

About your new role

As a valued member of the GEM team, you will deliver comprehensive, person-centred, and evidence-based care within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. Your focus will be on promoting the wellbeing of older adults by partnering closely with patients and their families to reduce the impact of hospitalisation and improve quality of life. This includes:

  • Providing high-quality, patient-focused nursing care
  • The ability to adaptively work with a variety of people
  • Participating in clinical handover
  • Liaising with the Registered Nurse regarding specific activities and outcomes

Qualifications

  • While not mandatory, a Certificate III or above in health-related studies would be well regarded
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)
