Overview

AIM Care Support and Services, a leading aged care service provider, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant in Nursing (AIN) to join our team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate assistance with daily personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Assist elderly residents with mobility needs, including transferring and positioning to ensure comfort and safety.
  • Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document accurately.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying to maintain a clean and organised living environment.
  • Engage residents in meaningful activities and conversations to promote mental alertness and emotional well-being.
  • Monitor and report changes in residents\' health status to nursing staff or supervisors promptly.
  • Accompany residents to medical appointments and outings, ensuring safe transportation and support.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided, including daily activities, observations, and any incidents or concerns.
  • Foster a respectful and supportive environment that upholds the dignity and independence of each resident.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, healthcare professionals, and family members to coordinate care plans.
  • Respond calmly and promptly to emergency situations, following established protocols to ensure resident safety.
Qualifications
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability, or Home and Community Care).
  • First Aid Certificate, including CPR.
  • National Police Check clearance.
  • Working with Children Check (depending on the role).
  • Compassion and empathy in caring for elderly and disabled individuals.
  • Ability to assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and daily living activities.
  • Proficiency in using mobility aids and assisting with mobility.
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in aged care settings.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and shifts.
  • Patience, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility towards client care.
  • Respect for client dignity, privacy, and cultural diversity.
