Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Legal Counseling Deputy General Counsel, the successful candidate shall be responsible for legal counseling, review of contracts and agreements, administrative cases, procurement, labor and/or tax matters.

Responsibilities:

  1. LEGAL COUNSELING

To ensure that NGCP’s corporate acts and operations are in compliance with existing applicable laws, rules and regulations.

  • Prepares/Drafts/Reviews legal opinion or advice, notices and correspondence on any matter as maybe requested by various functional groups or assigned by the Deputy General Counsel or General Counsel.
  • Undertakes studies on the interpretation of laws, rules and regulations relevant to the corporation and its operations.
  • Represent OGC in meetings with any NGCP unit, as may be assigned by the Deputy General Counsel or General Counsel.
  • Represent NGCP in meeting with external parties, as may be assigned by the Deputy General Counsel, General Counsel or the President and CEO.
  • Attends in various committees and working groups.
  • Serves as resource person on the education of employees on laws, rules, regulations, and other legal matters.
  1. CONTRACT/AGREEMENT, ARRANGEMENTS AND POLICY/ GUIDELINES/ PROCEDURES REVIEW

To ensure that all contracts, agreements and other arrangements by the Corporation, including tax matters, and policies, guidelines and procedures issued by NGCP comply with applicable laws, rules and regulations, and NGCP’s interests are protected

  • Drafts/Reviews contracts and/or memoranda of agreement, and any other form of agreements, banks, financial institutions and/or government-related documents, reports and/or arrangements referred to by various functional groups.
  • Drafts/Reviews NGCP policies, procedures, rules and all documents required in relation to its operations as may be referred to by various functional groups.
  • Participates in meetings as may be requested by other functional groups in relation to contracts or agreements with NGCP.
  1. ADMINISTRATIVE CASES

To ensure Company’s compliance to Labor laws, rules and regulations.

  • Provides legal opinion and guidance to Disciplining Authorities on handling administrative cases, including but not limited to the determination of possible violation, determination of mitigating and aggravating circumstances, preventive suspension, appropriate penalty and other related matters.
  • Participates in the hearing and/or investigation of administrative cases, if necessary.
  • Facilitates service to concerned employee of the notice of decision, if necessary, together with the HRTO and Security Department.
  1. SAFETY AND QUALITY MANAGEMENT

Ensure that activities are fully compliant with NGCP safety/quality standards

  • Complies with the applicable practices, regulations and standards of NGCP on safety and quality.
  • Participates in self-audit procedures within the Department to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards of the company.
  • Les oneself on pertinent safety and quality regulations and upholds a culture of safety and quality in NGCP.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Laws
  • Member, Integrated Bar of the Philippines
  • 6 years relevant work experience with at least 1 year in supervisory or managerial role (or equivalent level)
