Job summary

Dairy Best Victoria is seeking a skilled management accountant to join our Melbourne-based team. You will deliver monthly financial reports, assist with budgets and forecasts, and provide insights to drive improvements across our manufacturing operations.

You will partner with leadership to explain results, monitor variances, and support cost control and profitability initiatives. This role requires strong Excel skills and CA/CPA qualification is highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Management Accounting, Commercial Accounting or Finance Business Partnering role.
• Experience in manufacturing or inventory-based environment.
• Strong management reporting, forecasting and analysis skills.
• CPA or CA qualification is highly regarded.
• Experience with inventory analysis and costing is highly regarded.

• Process monthly journals and general ledger reconciliations

Job description

Reporting directly to the Group Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, driving operational insights and helping improve business performance. You won't just be producing reports; you'll be helping management understand what the numbers mean and identify opportunities for improvement.

Key responsibilities

Prepare monthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reports

Process monthly journals and general ledger reconciliations

Analyse and explain financial variances

Support continuous improvement of management reporting

Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data

Assist with annual budgets across multiple business entities

Support ongoing forecasting and business performance modelling

About you

Previous experience working within a manufacturing, production or inventory-based environment

Strong management reporting, forecasting and analysis skills

Advanced understanding of financial accounting principles

Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills

Strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders

Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

CPA or CA qualification (highly regarded)

Experience with inventory analysis and costing (highly regarded)

Experience implementing process improvements and cost-saving initiatives (highly regarded)
