Job summary

Compas Pty Ltd seeks an Assistant Director | Health Policy to lead major government policy initiatives across jurisdictions, including Canberra and other capital cities. You will plan complex reform programs, provide strategic advice on risks and priorities, and oversee stakeholder engagement with government and external partners.

This role requires deep understanding of Commonwealth health policy development and implementation, with experience delivering reforms in complex environments.

Assistant Director | Health Policy

Location: Canberra, Adelaide, Hobart, Sydney or Brisbane

Contract Duration: 19 October 2026 to 30 June 2027, with a possible 12-month extension

Security Clearance Requirement: Baseline

Closing Date: 10.00am, 9 October 2026

Due to the nature of this environment, candidates must hold a current Baseline clearance.

Essential Tasks

• Lead implementation and delivery of significant new Government policy initiatives.

Key Criteria

• Strong stakeholder engagement and strategic policy advisory capability.


• Commonwealth health policy and/or program experience is desirable.
