Job summary

Brighton Primary School OSHC is seeking an Assistant Director to join our established OSHC service, leading educators, ensuring safe, inclusive care and high-quality, play-based education for children.

You will work with the Director to oversee daily operations, support staff, and contribute to continuous improvement while engaging with families and the school community.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ACECQA-approved OSHC qualification for SA.
• Confident, supportive leader guiding educators and contributing positively to team culture.
• Child-focused with a strong commitment to safety, wellbeing, inclusion and development.
• Knowledge of NQF, NQS and MTOP.
• Develops meaningful learning experiences that respond to children's interests.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director with day-to-day operation of the OSHC service.
• Lead, guide and support educators to deliver high-quality programs and experiences.
• Coordinate and evaluate developmentally appropriate programs in line with MTOP and NQS.
• Support staff training, professional development and effective teamwork.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, health and safety requirements.
• Contribute to quality improvement planning, self-assessment and QIP implementation.
• Develop inclusive programs responding to individual children's needs and interests.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, educators and the wider school community.
• Respond to parent inquiries, feedback and concerns professionally.
• Promote safety and address hazards, risks, incidents and emergencies.

We are seeking a passionate and capable Assistant Director to join the established OSHC service at Brighton Primary School. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working alongside educators, building positive relationships with children and families, and contributing to a high-quality, inclusive and engaging OSHC environment.

Working closely with the Director, you will play an important role in the day-to-day leadership and operation of the service, supporting educators and ensuring children experience a safe, welcoming and enriching environment.

About the role

As Assistant Director, you will support the Director and team to deliver quality, play-based education and care that prioritises the safety, wellbeing, development and voice of every child.

You will contribute to:

• Supporting the Director with the effective day-to-day operation of the OSHC service.
• Leading, guiding and supporting educators to deliver high-quality programs and experiences.
• Coordinating and evaluating developmentally appropriate programs in line with MTOP and the National Quality Standard.
• Supporting staff training, professional development and effective teamwork.
• Supporting compliance with regulatory, statutory, health and safety requirements.
• Contributing to quality improvement planning, self-assessment and QIP implementation.
• Supporting the development and implementation of inclusive programs that respond to the individual needs and interests of children.
• Building positive and reciprocal relationships with children, families, educators and the wider school community.
• Responding professionally and positively to parent enquiries, feedback and concerns.
• Promoting a safe environment and identifying and responding to hazards, risks, incidents and emergencies.
• Supporting accurate documentation, observations, records and daily routines.
• Providing guidance and support to educators, students and volunteers.
• Contributing to the ongoing development of a positive, respectful and collaborative team culture.

About you

• Qualified - holding a Diploma or equivalent/higher qualification approved by ACECQA for OSHC in South Australia.
• A confident and supportive leader who can guide educators and contribute positively to team culture.
• Child-focused, with a strong commitment to children's safety, wellbeing, inclusion and development.
• Knowledgeable of NQF, NQS and MTOP
• Develops and facilitates meaningful learning experiences that respond to children's interests and contributions.
• Recognises and manages hazards, risks, incidents and emergency situations.
• Builds secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships with children.
• Able to support children with diverse needs and positively guide behaviour.
• Comfortable communicating with families and responding professionally to questions or concerns.
• Committed to professional learning, reflection and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of child protection and relevant compliance requirements
