Job summary
BIG W is seeking an Assistant Designer to help bring customer-focused fashion ranges from sketch to high-volume reality. You will work within a dynamic design team to develop commercial product lines that align with strategy and financial targets.
In this role you will draft CADs and tech packs, collaborate across sourcing, marketing, category and planning teams, and support the fitting process. A qualification in Fashion Design and 2+ years in apparel design are required.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of garment construction, fabric performance and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in Technical CAD drafting and related tools.
- Hands-on design experience in apparel or clothing retail.
Responsibilities
- Assist Designer to create high-volume, commercial product ranges.
- Produce accurate CAD drawings, Tech Packs and range development materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on range build and value engineering while ensuring quality and compliance.
- Support fitting process, sample coordination and tech pack updates.
- Maintain disciplined workflows to meet critical milestones for many styles.
